We had a great meeting last Thursday night. Thanks to everyone who donated material and who came to cut out 170 book bags! Also thanks for Sheri Caldwell for her help and for redesigning the pattern. The book bag will now fit any size child! Here is what we accomplished from the business part of the meeting:
Our Support Club “mission statement” has been written thanks to one of our members – Terry Twitchell!
Our “logo” – Jennifer brought to our attention that the Support Club has a logo on the website. It really is unique and captures our new Support Club name , “ A Mothers’ Arms” – Humanitarian (check it out – we will have to change the wording around the logo).
Karyn Bundle is willing to organize a benefit Concert this fall. The first planning meeting is Wed. April 16, 7:00 at the Sandy Library.
Another fundraiser is the Banquet/Auction in March 2009 with Andrea Davis-Nichols in charge. A training meeting is on Wed Apr 23.
For your information: Three more church groups are making t-shirt dresses in May Two more groups of ladies are making book bags A private school wants to make book bags & raise money for equipment needed for the Resource Center building project! (could this become a pilot program for other schools?) Kendyl and Ione are going to Africa in April/May. Enjoy, work hard and you will come back with more love in your heart than you thought was possible!
Please, everyone, consider getting involved with either the Concert or the Banquet/Auction. (We will use several of our Support Club Meetings as a time for committees to plan)
