Mothers Without Borders - SL Chapter

This is a letter to let you know what wonderful things our chapter members were able to accomplish in 2008!

1. Over 7,000 T-Shirt dresses for African girls were made by you,
your friends and neighbors. This is absolutely fabulous!! What more can I say?

2. Many toys and packaged food items were donated to the "Title One" school in Salt lake.

3. We stuffed lots of plastic Easter eggs with candy and small gifts
for the "Title One" school children' token store!

4. We supplied the token store with many gifts for Mother's Day.

5. We helped make 200 of the 500 book bags that went to the children in the villages in Zambia! (pictures attached!)

6. 6 people from the chapter went on their first MWB expedition this
summer!!! (How many bricks did they make???)

7. How about that fun garage sale??! We made $2000.00!!! Thanks for donating!

8. A million thanks for a terrific Concert with Jericho Road, Gospel
Ensemble, and Steven Kapp Perry. With the success of the boutique sales, the coat auction, and the concert tickets we were able to give over $10,000.00 to MWB!!

9. The chapter made items for the November Layton Boutique .

10. At our last meeting we donated and put together over 265 art kits for the Christmas "Title One" store! WOW- Leslie and Cindy are so thrilled!!!

We have had a great year! Thanks to everyone for your ideas, donations, time and enthusiasm! We truly have made a difference!

We can still use volunteers to wrap Christmas gifts at the Roosevelt
"Title One" school (33rd So 8th East). The dates are for Dec 8-12. You can contact Leslie (who teaches 6th grade at the school) to sign up for a time. Just bring a roll of wrapping paper and some scotch tape. 942-3314 or leslie_schroader@yahoo.com

See you at our first meeting in 2009 at the Sandy Library on Thursday, Jan 8th. Let's brainstorm money making ideas for the year. We will also have t-shirt dresses to hand out that are all ready to sew if you want to take some and involve others to complete them. I also hope to have pictures to hand out of the African girls in their dresses (work with me Debbie!).

p.s. Don't throw anything away. We will certainly have another garage
sale..........
